It’s been too long!
I’m back on the blog to share my most current skincare / personal products that I am using. I definitely needed to take a break from my recipes and food posts, so I figured this would be the perfect way! 😌
By the way, this post is not sponsored. All products mentioned were purchased by me and any opinions expressed are always 100% my own.✨
If you haven’t seen my 30 Day Skincare Progress Report post, I’d check it out! In there I talked about my skin issues and what products I was using to improve it in 30 days. Obviously I’ve switched things up since then, but you’ll be able to see before and after photos of my face to see what results I was able to get! 👀
I’ve been focusing a lot on how many items I own. Not just for personal care, but for everything inside our apartment. It’s made me continue to realize that I want to pursue minimalist living and a much less wasteful lifestyle. A lot of what you’ll see on my bathroom shelf are things I’ve made at home for personal care use and they reduce packaging and waste!
Take a look at my current layout.
Let’s start at the top!
If you didn’t know, I’m obsessed with minty scented things, so I had to have this. I got it on clearance at Target quite some time ago, and I sadly don’t seem to use it that much. I’m going to try and use it up over the holidays though, because who doesn’t love smelling like a candy cane around Christmas time? 😉 🎄
I honestly don’t use a lot of products on my hair, but this dry shampoo can be a wonderful hair saver on my worst hair days. I try to not wash my hair for as long as possible, and this stuff truly gives it an extra day or two.
If you took a peek at the post I linked to above you may notice that I had the same moisturizer as the one I just mentioned. 👆 That’s because I LOVE it. I’ve repurchased it for a second time and I’m going to keep it up!
This stuff is the twin sister of the original Precleanse by the same company. The original Precleanse is yet another product mentioned in my previous skincare post, and it’s a great product. I have a bunch of gripes about the new balm version though. You get 3.0 ounces for $45, which I just can’t wrap my head around. 🤷♀️ The original Precleanse is $42 for 5.1 ounces which is a little bit more and lasts longer. The balm feels heavy and hard to work with on the face, while the other is super easy to put on and take off. I think I’ll be sticking with the original product (or finding a cheaper alternative that isn’t packaged in plastic) for now.
This is a jar of regular cotton round pads soaked in homemade eye makeup remover. It consists of Argan oil, lavender oil, filtered water and a leftover tube of all-natural cleanser. The combo works great at removing what’s left of my eye makeup after I’ve already washed my face. If you’d like me to share a recipe for this, leave a comment and let me know!
Another homemade product! This one is super simple. I filled up an upcycled glass spice jar with unrefined coconut oil and baking soda. I wanted to add some drops of mint essential oil, but I didn’t have any on hand. Maybe next time! Toothpaste is a huge money sucker and it turns out you truly don’t need to buy it when you can make your own. The biggest benefit of all? No harsh chemicals or icky fluoride. 🚫
An old glass bottle with baking soda in it. Yep, that’s it. Baking soda. I take a small bit in my hands and powder under my arms and go about my day. It eliminates any and all smells, but doesn’t interfere with your body’s natural sweat production. Don’t try to stop sweat! It’s not good for you. 😓 If your skin is too sensitive or reacts badly to just baking soda, seek out natural alternatives. Essential oil based ones are a good place to start!
This bottle is naked because I ripped the label off with the intention of finding a new use for the bottle when I’m done with the product inside. It’s been reviewed and mentioned in another post of mine! I’m almost done with this product and I’m happy with how it has performed over the weeks I’ve been using it. I cant wait to share with you what my next cleanser will be. ✨
Just a little old bottle of Argan oil that I’ve had for ages (also with its label peeled off so I can re-use it 🙃). I’m super impressed with how long it has lasted so far. I’m not even down to halfway yet! The only problem I have with this product is that I have found out that it is refined (not as beneficial as unrefined oil in its purest form) and the company will not share where they source their oil from. It’s not organic either, which I believe is an important factor. I’ll be shopping around for another one in the future, and I won’t be recommending or linking to this product.
Easily one of my favorite face masks in the universe. I’ve repurchased this pot of amazingness for a second time, and I’m more than satisfied. 😊 Sorry if this one offends any hardcore vegans out there that don’t consider this a vegan product (it contains honey). LUSH is a great company that doesn’t test any of their products on animals and almost everything is vegan, with the exception of honey in the ingredients of some. It’s ethically sourced and the bees are happy, healthy, and respected. Don’t bee mad. 🐝
So that’s all of my skincare stuff!
