Essential Oils | First Impressions

Hey friends!

Today I want to share my first impressions on six essential oils that I purchased from a company called Eden’s Garden*.

*Quick lil disclaimer. This post is not sponsored by Eden’s Garden, and all products mentioned have been purchased by myself. My honest opinions and reviews are always 100% my own! 😘

I’ve been a big fan of essential oils ever since I tried a few amazing kinds from another brand called doTERRA. I won’t share the link to their website, because they are an MLM company (multi level marketing company) and you cannot purchase essential oils from them directly. If you would like to know more about doTERRA and how they do business, feel free to reach out to me with questions!

I have learned that the best way for myself to buy and use oils is through a company that sells directly to the consumer with complete transparency and no gimmicks. I had to do a lot of searching online before stumbling upon Eden’s Garden. I read more about their company and the dedication they have to the quality of their oils. After I learned more about them and their business practices, I decided to order a few of their oils in the smallest bottle size (5ml .17oz)

All of Eden’s Gardens oils are tested for complete purity and safety, and are never mixed with any additives, fillers, or bases. You can read more about their quality control and method of oil testing on their website. 🙂 All of the bottles will be labeled for external use, but quite a few of them can be eaten or taken internally with proper usage.

Inside your package they give you your order slip inside a pocket, which also has a small folded booklet with 150 ways to use essential oils. I think that’s awesome for anyone who has never tried oils before! It takes all the guesswork out of the equation, so all you have left is to enjoy playing around with different uses.

Also, every single oil is totally vegan. But hopefully you figured that out already. 😉

Read on below for my first impressions and review of each oil that I purchased! The price will be provided alongside the link in case you are interested in getting some yourself. Did I mention you receive free shipping? Yep! No coupon codes or referral links needed. They are just a cool company. 😎

Lavender – $6.95 (5ml)

This oil smells wonderful and I love putting a few drops under my arms as a natural deodorant scent, as well as putting up to 8 drops in my home diffuser to make the apartment smell great for a few hours. I know for a fact I’ll be buying a larger bottle when this runs out. I know lavender is also supposed to help with headaches and other ailments, but I don’t get headaches. So far I haven’t needed it for anything pain related just yet.

Lemon – $4.95 (5ml)

Where do I even begin? Lemon essential oil is literally the number one must have in any oil collection. I have been using two drops of this in my glass of water that I drink every morning. Not only does it taste delicious, but it helps detoxify and clean the body from the inside. Sometimes I’ll just open the bottle for big sniff! I’d like to use this for cooking next.

Clary Sage – $6.95 (5ml)

A while back I had a face cleanser that was infused with clary sage, and it was the best cleanser I had ever used. It smelled amazing and worked wonders on my skin. When I saw that Eden carried the essential oil on their website I instantly knew that I needed it. I use one drop of this mixed into my regular face cleanser every morning, under my arms by itself, and I also enjoy diffusing it. It has a strong tea smell (some compare it to earl gray) that I love. I may buy a larger size when this runs out.

Sleep Ease – $6.95 (5ml)

We have used this one time for attempting sleep improvement. I don’t have sleep issues, but my boyfriend has a difficult time falling and staying asleep most nights. I rubbed this under both of his feet and also stuck some in my diffuser to see if it would help just by itself. My boyfriend didn’t notice any change, but then again, I think we need to try it consistently before we give up on it entirely. I like the smell, which is a mix of Geranium, Rosewood, Coriander Seed, Lavender, Chamomile, Palmarosa, Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, and Rose. I’d love to try diffusing this during the day to promote peace and relaxation.

Head Ease – $5.95 (5ml)

My boyfriend struggles with headaches some days, so I decided to get a bottle of Eden’s oil blends to see if it would help out. As of right now, we haven’t tried it for headaches yet. I will still keep it on hand for when it is needed. The oil is composed of Wintergreen, Peppermint, Lavender, Basil, Sweet Marjoram, Moroccan Rosemary, Chamomile, and Frankincense. The scent is almost entirely overtaken by just the wintergreen, which is a strong and sickly sweet smell. Kinda annoying, but if it ends up working I won’t be complaining.

Energy Boost – $6.95 (5ml)

I didn’t think I would like this stuff at first sniff, but after tossing it into my work bag for on the go use, I changed my mind. Energy boost is a blend of Lemon, Black Pepper, and Sandalwood. I try to limit my use to only when I’m indoors, because you should avoid direct sun exposure when you are using a citrus based oil. This smells refreshing, has helped motivate me during the day, and I’m very happy that it’s my go-to oil at the moment.

Thanks for learning more about these oils with me! Let me know if you purchase any for yourself and try them too! Hashtag any of your posts on Instagram with #sunlightofthemind so I can check it out!
